Maternal & Infant Dietitian

Adam Longyear MEd (Clin) RD

Fertility, Pregnancy & Infant Dietitian

I’m a registered dietitian with specialist training in pregnancy, infant feeding, and neonatal care. I support families with nutrition from pre-conception through to weaning, offering evidence-based, compassionate guidance every step of the way.

My background spans both clinical and academic dietetics, I’ve worked in adult hospital settings and in neonatal intensive care (Level 3 NICU) and neonatal transitional care, and I’ve also led university modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This means I bring both my real-world experience and deep academic understanding to every consultation.

I’m trained in cue-based feeding and the Baby Friendly Initiative, and I’m a member of the BDA Women’s Health & Fertility and Paediatric (Neonatal) Specialist Groups. In addition to my intensive training to become a dietitian, I’ve undergone further formal training in neonatal nutrition and the nutritional management of pregnancy, so I’m confident supporting both common and more complex nutrition concerns in a variety of ways.

Whether you’re facing unexpected feeding or pregnancy issues, navigating a complex medical history, or just want reassurance, I’m here to help – kindly, practically, and without judgment.

Please note: As a registered and regulated health professional, I’m bound by strict ethical guidelines. If you or your baby are currently or have recently been under the care of myself or the wider team at the NHS hospital where I work (this is not in Cheshire or Manchester), I won’t be able to offer you private consultations, in line with guidance from the Health and Care Professions Council. I will also never give or receive commission or other benefit from any referrals I receive or provide to other professionals.
